Dr Leroy Campbell

About Me

Dr. Campbell is a specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a passion for teaching and patient care. His special area of interest is in Maternofetal Medicine, an area of Obstetrics that deals with very high-risk pregnancies whether due to pre-existing maternal disease or fetal complications.

In over 15 years of service to the health system in Jamaica, Dr Leroy Campbell has made tremendous contributions to the field of women's health. He has also served as a tutor and mentor to numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students, during a decade of service as an associate lecturer at the University of the West Indies as well as a consultant physician in the public service. He has been involved in several landmark initiatives and surgeries including two of the first successful surgeries performed on an unborn baby in the history of Jamaica and the Caribbean.

He has authored several publications in regional peer-reviewed journals such as the West Indian Medical Journal as well as international journals such as the Lancet and the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Campbell's passion for teaching has extended beyond the academic arena into the public health education space, evidenced by his facilitating live educational programs via social media. He also hosts The Womens Health podcast, on Apple podcast and Spotify as well as a weekly radio show, Beyond the Diagnosis on the Nationwide News Network.

He now serves as a consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cayman Islands Hospital.
