Obstetrician/Gynaecologist
The Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist provides high-quality obstetric, gynaecological, emergency, and primary care services to patients referred for treatment at the Cayman Islands Hospital, Grand Cayman, shared with other Consultant OB/GYNs, Registrars and Clinical Interns rotating in the disciplines. To provide consultative advice to allied medical and surgical specialties.
Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate provides a 24-hour obstetrics/gynaecology service, in conjunction with the other consultants, which includes regular antenatal, post-natal clinics, gynaecology outpatient clinics and general ward rounds on an agreed basis. The candidate also provides backup emergency for accident and emergency obstetrics cases and occasionally run outpatient clinics at Faith Hospital as a backup. The candidate also assists colleagues in other disciplines and works in close cooperation in the management of patients.
Qualification & Experience: The successful candidate must possess a primary medical degree and specialist qualifications (i.e. MB ChB and FRCS or MBBS and DM -Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from a recognised institution and be eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Health Practice Commission. The successful candidate must also have a minimum of seven (7) years post graduate experience in the specialty working in a healthcare setting. The ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is highly essential. All candidates must be registered in either of the following jurisdictions to be eligible to practice in the Cayman Island: Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and/or Australia.
