On 6 and 13 April, individuals can visit participating supermarkets during designated hours to receive complimentary health screenings conducted by qualified healthcare professionals. These screenings are essential for early detection of potential health issues and can help individuals better understand their overall health status. Additionally, the corresponding health checks will be available Monday, 8 April to Friday, 12 April, at all district health centres from 9 am to 12 noon.
World Health Day 2024 Screening Schedule
“Access to basic health screenings is a fundamental right for everyone,” said Dr Samuel Williams Rodriguez, Director of Primary Healthcare Services, at the Health Services Authority (HSA). "Through the 'My Health, My Right' initiative, we aim to break down barriers to healthcare access and promote preventive health measures within our community."
The screenings will cover vital health metrics, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels, providing participants with valuable insights into their cardiovascular health and overall well-being. Participants will also receive personalized recommendations and resources for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
"We believe that by making health screenings accessible in familiar community settings such as supermarkets and the district health centres, we can encourage more people to prioritize their health and well-being," added Dr Samuel Williams Rodriguez.
The "My Health, My Right" initiative underscores the Public Health Department’s commitment to promoting health equity and empowering individuals to advocate for their own health needs. By offering these screenings free of charge, Public Health aims to bridge gaps in basic healthcare access.
